From Value Stories to Dealer Connections
Recap of NCM and Digital Dealer 2026
September was a busy month for the iPacket team, with stops at NCM in Kansas City and Digital Dealer in Detroit. Each event offered a different opportunity to connect with automotive professionals, exchange ideas and show how stronger processes and better vehicle information can help dealerships stand out.
From Amber Starr taking the stage at NCM to our team showcasing the full iPacket product suite at Digital Dealer, both events reinforced a message we hear throughout the industry: Dealers need tools that help them operate more efficiently while creating a more transparent and confident buying experience.
NCM: Helping Dealers Tell a Stronger Value Story
At NCM, iPacket’s Amber Starr presented “Price Is a Number. Value Is a Story.” Her session focused on a challenge every dealership faces: When shoppers have more choices and information than ever, a competitive price alone is not always enough to earn their business.
Dealerships put significant time, effort and resources into preparing vehicles for the frontline, but that work does not create value for the shopper if it is never clearly communicated. Amber encouraged dealers to look beyond the price displayed on the vehicle and highlight the complete story behind it.
That story can include the work completed during reconditioning, the vehicle’s history, supporting documentation and the details that distinguish it from other options in the market. When this information is clear and easily accessible, shoppers can better understand what they are getting and why a specific vehicle may be the right choice for them.
The biggest takeaway was simple: Give your dealership and your inventory the opportunity to shine. Consumers are comparing vehicles, prices and dealerships across multiple channels. Showing the care that went into a vehicle helps reduce uncertainty, supports shopper confidence and gives sales teams more meaningful ways to communicate value.
The conversation also reflected a larger shift in automotive retail. Transparency is no longer just about providing information. It is an opportunity for dealerships to differentiate themselves, build trust and create a stronger customer experience from the first interaction.
Digital Dealer: Showing Up and Showing Out in Detroit
Later in the month, the iPacket team headed to Detroit for Digital Dealer 2026. While the show floor was a little lighter this year, our team still showed up and showed out.
At booth #701, attendees had the chance to explore iPacket’s full suite of solutions and see how each product supports a different part of the dealership process. Conversations covered everything from creating transparent Digital Vehicle Presentations to improving reconditioning workflows, strengthening vehicle pricing and value stories, and reconnecting with high-intent shoppers.
Together, iPacket, iPacket Recon, iPacket Value and OnTargeting help dealerships connect the work happening behind the scenes with the experience shoppers see online and in the showroom. Instead of treating merchandising, reconditioning, pricing and follow-up as separate efforts, dealers can build a more consistent process around each vehicle.
Most importantly, Digital Dealer gave our team time to sit down with dealers, learn more about their current challenges and demonstrate how the iPacket product suite can fit into their existing operations. Those conversations led to multiple deals signed onsite, making the trip a success for our team and the new dealer partners joining iPacket.
The connections continued after the exhibit hall closed. We had a fantastic turnout at our team dinners, where we enjoyed great food and drinks while entertaining dealers and getting to know them outside of the booth. Those relaxed conversations are always one of our favorite parts of an event. They give us the chance to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas and have a little fun along the way.
Carrying the Momentum Forward
Although NCM and Digital Dealer offered different experiences, the message connecting them was clear: Every detail matters.
The work completed during reconditioning matters. The way a dealership communicates a vehicle’s history and value matters. The tools teams use to manage inventory, engage shoppers and follow up matters. When those pieces work together, dealerships can operate more efficiently while delivering an experience that builds trust and helps shoppers move forward with confidence.
Thank you to everyone who joined Amber’s session at NCM, stopped by our booth at Digital Dealer or spent time with our team in Nashville and Detroit. We appreciate every conversation and look forward to continuing the momentum.
